ASIL-capable, device is aimed at inclusion in safety critical systems where ASIL or SIL certification is required. It has physical 307kpixel spatial resolution. Product’s key use cases are dynamic airbag suppression (so that airbags are not deployed unnecessarily), driver attention monitoring and close-range exterior LiDAR. It can also be employed to provide safety perimeters for industrial cameras, for supporting the control of robots’ movements and for enabling more advanced machine vision. Device provides back-side illuminated (BSI) imaging technology, and combines firm’s automotive expertise with Sony’s proprietary DepthSense ToF pixel. Product delivers 135 depth frames per second.
